Barthol's Visit and Brett's 4th Birthday

Brett's 4th birthday fell on a tues. so Josh and I took the afternoon off to go to Legoland and the waterpark with the kids!  So much fun!  Brett was on cloud nine with a birthday party the Sat. before, party at school and an amazing hat too boot :)
Our dear friend Prachi called the city community center and "ordered" an officer on a bike to show up for Brett's birthday party.  It was a total surprise and just amazing!  We had over 20 families join us for a beautiful day in the park - lots of donuts, milk, coffee, family and friends!
Lick the #4 candle and cut the cake - the mom's couldn't believe that we had a cake in addition to the loads of donuts...eek, nap-time was probably a tough one that day!
My sister Molly and her husband Steve came in town with their twins - Luke and Will, 17 mos. at the time...what a treat and a very special day and party!
Brett has been writing his name for a few months now - the officers even let him sign a ticket and KEEP it!
This is the only time in life that it is cool to have a ticket!
Trev is always on guard - classic pic, probably won't get one like this again...
Look at that very happy birthday boy!
We are excited for the party and to smile at the camera and then there is Trev, just watching and waiting for grub time!

Mol and Steve were champs with backpacking the kids so we could do the hike behind our house - all the way to the top for the ocean view and breezes :)
We got super lucky with the weather - very nice several days - BEACH WEATHER and her boys first trip to the beach!  They loved it - what a huge sandbox!  It was hard to get everyone to leave, not to mention the cleaning off, packing up etc.
The Barthols got Mr. Rico Suave fashion bug Brett some new duds!  They know him well - as you can see, he liked the hat!
Lots of little ones at the beach...
Posed pics were a little difficult!
Another one but again, never looking or smiling the same way at the same time!
Such a fun birthday/Barthol visit weekend!  Thanks so much for being here with us to celebrate - the kids were champs on the plane but did not sleep that well with the time change/pack n' plays.  I know momma and daddy went home tired but we are grateful for the time we got to spend together and the memories that we made!  Love you guys!
