October is over & "No more kids November"

Hello all! Yes, you read the title correctly - we're finished, done, terminado...with the baby making that is! Excitingly, we write that our family is complete with two little boys. It's such a blessing to have these wonderful little fellas in our life/family and that we're officially population neutral! HA! Seriously, with the cost of living, cost of kid care, no family to help us in a moment's notice, 80% that our third would be another boy and the list goes on and on....quitting while we're ahead seems like the most fitting plan for us! We have to let go of the little girl thoughts but honestly, we seem to be speaking "boy" and learning a new language would have maybe put us over the top! God bless Josh for taking one for the team...the surgery went great and it was quick. However, it meant a long down and out weekend. Even more reason to appreciate him and how awesome of a hands on dad he is! Here's to healthy healing and being back to picking up the kids in about another week. Here are some fun pics from the past month... We have a busy month ahead with work and very much looking for mom and dad's visit for Thanksgiving! We've been calling Trev "honey badger" - if you haven't seen the video, basically the honey badger is a ruthless, determined and "doesn't give a crap" animal. Trev takes what Trev wants! He went with me and Brett to the gym this past weekend for the first time and their report was that he is "kinda a bully!" Just great.... He is taking ~ 15 steps at a time right now. He finally climbs up the stairs on his own but is too scared to come down. He does everything Brett does - very into playing drums on everything! So cute! No Christmas ideas PLEASE :) He is a very determined little fella and so relentless with his efforts to plow over you, knock a drink from your hand, take your hand off his belly (which he DOES NOT like) or kick you, pull your hair etc. We are really starting to discipline and lots of "no" saying around here! He is weighing about 22 pounds and 30 inches now - he got 5 brutal shots for his 1st year appointment. Like we said, he's one tough guy!!

What a trip - Brett was a Carlsbad Police officer and he was so into it. We used my eye-liner to make him a goatee and beard! Josh was a robber/scary guy for Brett to arrest, Trev was the guard dog K9 and I was Josh for Halloween - a very excited "Buckeyes beat Wisconsin" Buckeye Fan!

The Saturday before Halloween, our friend John, his girlfriend Wendi and her daughter Zeina (zeigh -na) "Z" and both Wendi and John's mom came down to go out in Carlsbad with us. Lots of fun! I was a bumble bee (borrowed from the neighbor). Gotta love this official pic!

Brett and Z get along great...she just turned 4 on Oct. 27th, so it was a big birthday party celebration weekend for her. Too cute to see us all hand in hand...

Wendi is so creative, she had all the gals be Super Power girls and Brett even joined in with his mighty punch. She is a really good mom and Z is a nice little girl. She and Brett pretend to by boyfriend and girlfriend....already, can you believe this?! Don't worry, we're all over it!!

There are the little ones smiling big and having a blast! Still hand in hand...they're getting serious :)

Love these boys smiles! The Surritts came over to carve pumpkins with us - James and Charlie were fun to have around, eating cookies and drinking hot chocolate. They also gave us great news that they are expected #3 in June!! Maybe a girl this time?!

Another sweet one...and more to come soon. Very thrilled to have everyone healthy, mobile and gearing up for the holiday season. It really feels like it has snuck up on us this year....I've got to hop to it! Take good care, lots of love - the C'bad V's
