The Fair, Brett's 3rd Birthday and Trev 9 months

Hello friends and family, we hope you all are having great times with your summer so far! I am so happy not to be pregnant this summer - as it is nice to play, try to keep up with Brett and enjoy all the awesome sunshine we've had (heat (not complaining) as well:)

To start things off, we had our 8 week check up for Brett's eye this past week. The news isn't so good, unfortunately. There has been no progress at all with the patching and glasses. Therefore, the opthamologist wants to cross off the potential concerns related to the brain/cysts and we are going to get the MRI done. We have awesome support through our pediatrician and he is going to help us through the HMO process, approvals and getting it scheduled at Children's Hospital. Truthfully, being that we did find a couple of past pictures of Brett's eye crossing from back in March - there is very little concern that there is anything to see in the MRI, however - it is the next step now and just the prudent way to treat Brett's case. Step by step, right?! The good news is the Brett is being such a champ with the patch and he is also handling the appointments and all that he has been through so bravely! We are very proud of him :) I will keep you posted on what is determined after the MRI results are in - hopefully in the next week or two. We are to keep patching 6 hrs. a day and wearing glasses until our next appt. with the opthamologist in late August.

I have put some pics on to keep you in the loop of what we've been up to lately. The fair is always in town during Brett's b-day - so on his actual b-day we went there and enjoyed a few early hrs. before the mayhem let loose. Then, we had his b-day party on July 3rd here at the house which included 80+ people - we had a blast! We were so excited that so many friends/neighbors/kids were able to make us part of their holiday weekend plans. We've also been doing a lot of things around the house - getting ceiling fans, window treatments, painting the deck and pictures to be hung...trying to make this place our home and not just a house :) Again, step by step!
We are getting very pumped for summer vacation here in San Diego with Josh's family and then our trip to Lanai Hawaii (kinda a 5 yr. anniversary trip/b-day trip/thank God grandma and great grandma will already be in town and can help us with our kids trip :) Summer is the best!

Brett was hilarious - he walked all the way up this with his burlap bag and sat down and went for it. We were shocked and then, he was SHOCKED...his eyes were the size of silver dollars and he was pretty scared afterwards and then he realized, "hey, that was pretty cool of me!" :)

Riding on the most boring ride - he picked it before the slide, guess he was trying to up the anty but one extreme to the next!

High fives to daddy!

He loved riding the truck! He was the leader of the pack and totally thought that he was driving everyone. Guess we watch too much Ice Road Truckers around here...

Clint Perry (and the Boo Hoo Crew that is, couldn't afford the crew...) came to sing to Brett and his friends. He had a few pirate songs - I think that I was way more into it than Brett. He's a friend of the people that live across the street and totally nice. He did a great job and we had a lot of fun with it!

See, me having more fun than Brett......

I think that he wanted his ring pop opened - I did goodie bags with gold coins, ring pops, eye patches and these scary gummy pirate teeth candies...YUK!

The friends that don't have kids yet...two of them are preggers. Kel is one of them - throwing her shower here in Oct. for their November 30th due date. So stoked they are expecting....and glad that my kids weren't permanent birth control!

Daddy and Brett sharing a moment - probably Daddy telling him to shape up. He was so excited about the day, we only got a 25 minute nap out of him. He usually sleeps 3 hrs. + on the weekends. We had the big pirate jump house blown up in the street for the block party that was going on that day and that was not a stellar idea in hind sight...the big kids were having too much fun while the little ones were supposed to be napping.

All decked out in his garb!

All the kids having a good time....I had a lot of fun finding pirate stuff. I think with pirates of the Caribbean, there is quite a bit to chose from. My mom found Trevor's Paul Frank onesie and then, I found matching swim trunks and a rash guard for Brett. I made a big mistake and never got a group pic of all the kids nor one of our whole family. Let's just not talk about it, total salt in my wound! No wonder why the rich people hire a personal assistant/event planner!?! HA! I was busy with some very helpful girlfriends in the kitchen sweating and making pizza etc. Very bummed to not have better pics but so goes...thanks for letting me vent! :)

Ok, to update you on little Trev - well, he isn't so little - he's huge! He's wearing 12 mos. clothes, he eats a ton. Actually, it's kinda grossing us out - he eats everything you put in front of him. Like an overfed fish that doesn't know when to stop! He still doesn't really have a tooth - it's trying to make its way through but the lack thereof does not stop Trev. He gums everything...even chicken! UNREAL! He is crawling on his knees and has crawled up two stairs. He pulls up to everything and gets so excited to be standing. He sometimes gets stuck standing and just plops his fat bottom down...he's like humpty dumpty!! Gotta love our little porker. Both kids have their check ups towards the end of this month. Thank goodness I can do these appointments - dentist, baby check up, toddler check up, opthamologist, MRI....wow and that's all in 2 weeks!!

This shirt is SO BRETT! We're trying not to let him run us over...but man, there are some days...and Trev, he better prepare for what's coming his way. Maybe that's why he is bulking up?!

I am thinking it's going to be hard to get many more pics without the wild one in the spot light too....but we're so happy to see them loving on each other, knowing those days are to be treasured :)

More info on both the fellas that run our tribe to come...whether it's eyes, teeth, you name it! Lots of love from us to you, the San Diego/Carlsbad Vermillions
